Week 8: Last week

This final week I have been working with the other artists to transfer my projects over to them before I leave. So it has been a fairly smooth process as I get others up to speed on what I have been working on for the SEALS project. I have learned that it is VERY important to stay organized. This process would be nothing short of chaotic if I didn't have a very rigid system set in place to label my files. Overall this internship has been nothing short of amazing. I have learned so much about Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop. Most importantly tough, I would say I fully grasped the importance of deadlines. The business side of design is a nonstop machine that won't slow down for anyone....so either jump on board or prepare yourself to be run over. Thank you Brandissimo for a wonderful 8 weeks.

Week 6-7: Navy SEALS

The past two weeks I have been asked to work on a new project for the Navy: SEALS developing an iphone game. Another artist and myself have been creating the level mock-ups and user interface for the game while doing a copious amount of research on how the SEALS use function to make the game as authentic as possible. The process has been great thus far. I have been able to spread my wings more with this project getting to create the level layout and stylizing much of the potential backdrops for the game. Attached below is a snapshot of one of my levels with the user interface.

Week 5: Midevils

This week I was focusing purely on the character development of Herb. I am working hand in hand with Ajay who is the lead animator for the pilot to learn the character rigging process. The work itself is tedious but I am starting to understand how each character is constructed is the 3 poses.

Wednesday July 8th

Busy busy day. Was assigned a flash project with little to go off of for the nfl.com homepage! I think it turned out well for having no real experience in flash. All in all, another good day here at Brandissimo!

Week 2-3

Monday of week 3 and so far so good. Still working on character clean up for a new animated project. You can see in the pictures below how I start with a concept sketch from the animation artists and go over convert it to the digital concept art. Also have been still working on the NFL Rush Zone website creating banners and images for a number of panels and pages. See below for the images.

Friday.....and today

Continued working on character rigging. I have a lot to learn......

Saturday (today) traveled into Hollywood to see the mayhem surrounding Micheal Jacksons death. It was insane. Also found out today that anyone in the world can get a TV show. We saw Lil' Wayne and T.I.s daughters on the boulevard interviewing people for their upcoming TV show. I love this town....

Day 3

Ok, so I have decided to post here every other day or else I would have WAY more content on here than necessary. So expect updates every monday, wednesday and friday.

Today was great, we had an art meeting this morning going over future projects and how everyone is doing on their work load and progress. I have been assigned a few projects now with the largest working on "rigging" characters for flash cartoons. This new series will be amazing and already looks visually impressive thanks to Jimmy's sketches. Today was also spent looking for bugs in a flash game that is to be released at the end of July. It's not a bad gig getting paid to play video games.....Be on the lookout for "Bomb-Digity" soon!
